Helms Bakery District, location of our Christmas 2010 pop up store. We were back today to look over the district again…possible location for Summer pop up store. Benefit at being at Helms, Father’s Office (killer burgers & beer) and La Dijonaise (yummy French bistro). This area in LA, the Culver City area, has had a major lift in the last few years. It’s great to see a neighborhood revitalized with great business and crowds.

Productivity

As all of us have been upgrading to smart phones we are amazed to the amount of work we can now do on our phones. We now use our phones to charge credit cards when on locations and view all our PDF’s and Excel files from anywhere. With the high quality and size of the new screens it’s easy to be portable without having to carry our laptops. I personally love the barcode reader and the ability to read E-mails from different accounts. With Android or Apple phones it seems like these smart phones are becoming a necessity for a business. There are dozens of great apps out there for businesses and productivity. We are exited to see where this trend goes.

Re branding

We are all for re branding, every company tends to try to update and spice up their look. Most of the time costs incurred are kept a secret. When we saw this new change to the Starbucks logo we wondered how much our coffee prices will go up. Some other revisions have cost a lot of money. Pepsi spent $1million, Starz cable network $25million, BP $136 million. Bear in mind that a re branding cost is entirely different from the cost of a new logo design. A logo change can cost as much as $400k - $1million just for a update. Guess who pays for all this cosmetic work.
